Let’s explore the southern part of the desert, near the border of Saudi Arabia, meeting the last Bedouins who perpetuate their ancestral way of life in the heart of the desert.

This part of the desert, rarely visited due to its isolated nature, benefits from Khaled’s extensive knowledge, who has resided there for many years with his family. DAY 1 :

Jeep excursion through the iconic sites of Wadi Rum :

DAY 2:

After breakfast, head towards Jabal Al Hash for a approximately 2.5-hour round trip hike, followed by a meal prepared by your Bedouin guide. Then, we head towards the southern part of the desert to explore Wadi Noghra and Wadi Sabat, offering breathtaking and untouched panoramas away from mass tourism. These magical and less-visited places promise us an unforgettable experience. The day ends with a stunning sunset around the fire, accompanied by a cup of tea for a perfect finale.

The same program is scheduled for the first two days.

For the 3rd and/or 4th day, several options are available:

– Jabal Umm ad Dami (the country’s highest point at 1854 meters above sea level) + the dam built by the Bedouins to collect water. Then, we will explore the Desert Eye, the Um Ashaman arch, and Cow Rock (meal included).

OR

– Jabal Umm ad Dami + Meeting with the Bedouins* (to be discovered on-site, Bedouins, nomads by nature, may sometimes make it difficult to locate their locations) meal included.

– Barrah Canyon + Burdah Rock Bridge (meal included)

DAY 1 :

FROM ANFISHIYEH TO UM MUGUR :

DISTANCE: APPROXIMATELY 10 KM

To begin your trek, we will pick you up in a jeep from Wadi Rum village and take you to Anfishiyeh Inscription. Take your time to admire the ancient Thamudic and Nabataean carvings: hunting scenes, camels, and pre-Arabic writings once used to guide caravans through the desert. This site is a precious testament to Bedouin history and a true archaeological gem.

You will then continue toward the majestic red sand dunes before crossing an isolated, peaceful, and silent canyon — a perfect place to slow down, reconnect, and soak in the raw beauty of the desert.

At lunchtime, your Bedouin guide will prepare your meal in front of you, slowly cooked over a wood fire, in keeping with tradition. Naturally, tea will be served — gently brewed over the embers — along with fresh water. All of this in a stunning natural setting, with no sound but the whisper of the wind.

In the afternoon, the journey continues toward the Burdah Arch, the tallest in the desert (35 meters high, perched at 1,020 meters above sea level), which you will admire from below. You’ll then enjoy a breathtaking view from Matala before crossing the spectacular Burdah Canyon — one of the most remote and fascinating in Wadi Rum.

At the end of the day, you’ll arrive at Um Mugur to witness the sunset in absolute silence.

A night under the stars awaits you: a sheltered spot, often near the mountains, already set up with a campfire and tea ready to welcome you. As night falls, mattresses, pillows, and blankets are arranged around the fire, and a traditional Bedouin dinner is served.

It’s a simple, authentic moment, where the desert’s silence is broken only by the crackling of the fire and the sparkle of the stars.

DAY 2 :

FROM UM MUGUR TO WADI NOGHRA:

DISTANCE: 14 KM
ASCENT OF JABAL AL ASH: 300 METERS OF ELEVATION GAIN (SUMMIT AT 1650 METERS)

After a hearty breakfast at the camp, you’ll set off from Um Mugur toward Radet Salem, one of the most beautiful trails in the southern desert. This enchanting route leads through untouched landscapes where you’ll likely come across camels, living symbols of Bedouin life. The atmosphere is peaceful, and the raw beauty of the desert reveals itself in all its splendor.

Upon arrival at Radet Salem, you’ll enjoy a well-deserved break for lunch, an ideal moment to savor a traditional meal prepared on-site, surrounded by the stunning wilderness of the desert.

The afternoon will be dedicated to the ascent of Jabal Al Ash, a mountain with an elevation gain of 300 to 400 meters. Reaching an altitude of 1650 meters, the summit offers a spectacular view: on one side, the Saudi border, and on the other, Jordan’s highest peak, Um Ad Dami. The breathtaking panorama is a well-earned reward for your climb.

Along the way, you’ll follow winding mountain trails that lead you down into Wadi Noghra, a magical and intimate place often considered one of Wadi Rum’s hidden gems. (Little secret: this is my favorite spot in the desert, a true haven of peace where nature reigns supreme.)

You’ll end this beautiful day with an unforgettable sunset in Wadi Noghra, bathed in golden and orange hues, before spending the night sleeping under the stars in this exceptional setting.

DAY 3

FROM WADI NOGHRA TO UM RADA :

DISTANCE: 17-20 KM

Your third day begins with the exploration of the enchanting landscape stretching from Wadi Nughra to Um Rada. Cover an estimated distance of 17 to 20 kilometers, unveiling spectacular views throughout the journey. Traverse Nughra Canyon to Wadi Sabat, where you’ll enjoy a revitalizing meal in the heart of this picturesque oasis. Recharge your energies in this tranquil place before continuing towards Um Rada.

Along the way, be mesmerized by the viewpoint of Zaza, a must-see stop that offers a unique perspective on the splendors of Wadi Rum. Additionally, observe the ancestral techniques used by the Bedouins to preserve cheese, a fascinating immersion into the culinary traditions of this historically rich region. Every step brings you closer to Um Rada, a destination promising to enrich your journey with its unique charm and natural wonders. Enjoy this memorable day, where adventure blends with discovery, and soak in the incomparable beauty of this Jordanian treasure.

DAY 4

FROM UM RADA TO THE RUM VILLAGE :

DISTANCE: 10 KM

Begin your fourth day by embarking on a 10-kilometer walk from Um Rada towards the village of Rum. Along the way, discover the Um Ashaman Arch, also known as the Eye of the Desert, a remarkable natural formation that marks your route. Traverse the Al Qatar area, offering magnificent panoramas and peaceful moments in the heart of the desert.

Your journey gradually leads you to the village of Rum, where your adventure comes to an end. It is here, in this charming location imbued with Bedouin hospitality, that we part ways, marking the conclusion of your stay.
